Pinterest- all the reasons why.

 

My friend B* asked for an explanation of this “pinterest thing”.  I can do that…. get ready to hear me gush!

First, let’s go back to 1995 when I was in the Graphic Design program. Our professor introduced us to the concept of making an idea morgue. Back then, that meant clipping ideas and inspirations out of magazines and catalogs and organizing them so you could refer back to them. I spent countless HOURS doing just that and continued for YEARS. Until last year, in fact.

Pinterest is the same concept- except that I have the whole world wide web at my fingertips instead of a small handful of catalogs. Also, I don’t have to have filing cabinets and expandable files all over my house.

I have 49 boards at this point- a little something for every occasion.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I have boards for recipes I want to try and then a KEEPER RECIPE board where all of the best ones live.

Probably too many craft ideas… but we’ve already used some of the SUMMERTIME CRAFTS FOR KIDS to keep busy.

Then, I have boards just for me. Collections of things I love, looking at them makes me happy.

You see what I mean, I can’t stop. It’s so much fun for a person who thinks in images the way I do. I think if you could see inside my brain it would look a whole lot like a pinterest screen shot.

Oh, and one last reason I love it. I have a board called “I really want this.” and guess what? Mitch found this board one time, saw some perfume I has pinned and ORDERED IT FOR ME! It was an awesome surprise.

Pinterest is dangerously addictive and my most favorite way to spend time on the internet. Even more than blogging, lately. You still have to have an invitation to join, but I have four more. Anyone want one? B*- did I talk you into it?
