For assault and cattery.

There is NO harmony between the critters in our home these days.

Yesterday Huckle and Jessie had a face off- or, more correctly, Huckle tried to scratch Jessie’s face off.I tried to intervene and ended up like this.

Not nice.

Mitch and I were talking about the situation this morning. I’ve always been a cat person, and I still love them BUT (and here’s a big BUT)… cats are impossible to reason with or train. They’re like teenagers- they know it all and don’t give a flying flooey what you have to say.  Dogs are like little kids- all they want in the world is to please you and get a treat.

Foxy and Jessie mostly ignore each other but Huckle’s brain turns off and he becomes a howling tornado of claws when she’s anywhere near. I don’t know what to do with him. Really.

  1. I have a few cat scratch scars from my days working in a vet clinic, but actually the worst scars are from my own cats!
Your assessment of cats as teens and dogs as little kids is spot-on. I wouldn't know what to do about Huckle either, but I have the number of a good pet psychic . . .
